Layton Juniors FC was founded in 2004.We were invited to play competitive football matches in the Poulton & District Primary League for the 2005-2006 season, and at Under 11 level into the Blackpool and District Youth League for the season 2008 - 2009.
The Club had steady growth in the first 3 years and in 2007 we moved to Boundary Park, which was shared with FC Rangers, to take advantage of the full size pitches. During the summer of 2007 a committee was formed to move the club to the next level.
A Decision was made to work towards the Football Association Charter Standard and use this as the foundation for the Club. The Club started to grow at a phenomenal rate.
In April 2008 we were approached by the Friends of Kingscote Park and asked if we would consider using the facilities on Kingscote Park for football. Layton Juniors were delighted with the prospect of having a home we could call our own and to have the opportunity to play football in Layton. The Club moved all training facilities to Kingscote Park in July 2008.
We would like to thank all at the friends of Kingscote Park ,Lisa, Tim and Dawn at the council. The Layton Councilors and Ian craddock and his team.
Layton Juniors Football Club is proud to have been awarded the prestigious status of FA Charter Standard Club.
The FA Charter Standard Clubs programme, supported by FA Community Partner McDonald's, was launched in February 2001 with the aim of setting standards of coaching, administration and child protection for clubs working with young people.
The programme is aimed at boys and girls under 16 and will help children and parents find in their local area a club that meets FA standards of coaching, administration, development and child protection.
Youth Clubs need to demonstrate :-
Management
Child Protection
Qualified Coaches
Fair Play and Good Conduct
Insurance
However maybe the most important benefit is the recognition, from The FA, that the club provides a safe, quality environment for its young players.
